Asphodel Airdrop Status on July 10, 2026

Status: ACTIONABLE OFFICIAL LAUNCH REWARDS CAMPAIGN; NOT A CONFIRMED TOKEN AIRDROP. The Asphodel Prologue is live on Ethereum mainnet, and its official launch event runs from July 7 through July 28, 2026. Confirmed rewards include an event-only soulbound cosmetic for completing a Festival, $250 USDC bonuses for the first ten players to Ascend, and a $1,000 judged content competition. There is no active ONYX airdrop, and no SOMA token, checker, snapshot, allocation formula, or claim page exists.

The exact project behind current “asphodel airdrop” listings is Asphodel, the fully on-chain game world at asphodel.io from the team behind Kamigotchi World. Its Prologue is a roguelike autobattler on Ethereum in which players mint and train a creature called a Taruchi, fight Duels, enter three Festivals, and either die permanently or Ascend. The official site links the game at play.asphodel.io, documentation at docs.asphodel.io, and X account @asph0d37.

Safety-first conclusion: the campaign is real and currently actionable, but the gameplay route is neither free nor a low-risk faucet. A first Taruchi costs 9 ONYX plus Ethereum gas; later Festivals cost another 5, 10, and 15 ONYX. Most Taruchi die before Ascension. Participate only if the game itself justifies the cost, use a dedicated low-value wallet, and never buy ONYX or pay gas based on an assumed future SOMA allocation.

What Asphodel Is and Why Listings Call It an Airdrop

Asphodel describes itself as an immortal virtual world built on Ethereum. The core idea is that the game rules and economy live on-chain rather than depending entirely on a conventional game server. Kamigotchi World, the team’s earlier on-chain MMORPG on Yominet, is described as a prototype and prequel. Asphodel Prologue is the first Asphodel release on Ethereum mainnet and has been live since July 7, 2026.

Airdrop directories have a plausible reason to track the project, but their label compresses several different opportunities. First, the current launch event promises a literal post-event airdrop of a soulbound cosmetic to eligible Festival participants. Second, the game pays fixed ONYX rewards to successful players and launch-only USDC bonuses to early Ascenders. Third, the whitepaper discusses a future governance token currently called SOMA and says at least 60% of its supply will go to active ecosystem users. Only the first two categories are currently actionable and confirmed.

ONYX is already live and traded. The official whitepaper says its one million token supply was distributed through a 2025 presale and liquidity pool, with no hidden reserve, unlock, or inflationary issuance. Therefore an “ONYX airdrop” claim is unsupported. SOMA is different: it has not launched, the team does not expect a token generation event before 2027 at the earliest, and even its ticker and branding may change. A future user distribution is an intention, not a current claim.

Confirmed Facts Versus Speculation

Confirmed by primary Asphodel sources

  • Asphodel Prologue launched on Ethereum mainnet on July 7, 2026, and the launch event closes Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

  • Completing one Festival during the event, whether the player wins or loses, qualifies the Taruchi for a unique soulbound toggleable cosmetic. The team says it will airdrop the item after the event.

  • The first ten players to Ascend receive an extra $250 USDC each, manually sent within a few weeks of Ascension, in addition to in-game Festival winnings.

  • The content competition has $1,000 in total prizes: $350, $200, and $150 for the Festival division, plus four $75 Duel-division prizes.

  • A content entry must be posted on X with @asph0d37 tagged and submitted in the official Discord #launch-comp-submissions channel by the end of July 28.

  • A Taruchi mint costs 9 ONYX. Rerolling begins at 3 ONYX. Festival entry fees are 5, 10, and 15 ONYX at levels 11, 22, and 33, plus gas throughout.

  • Taruchi begin as soulbound. A Taruchi that survives all three Festivals and Ascends becomes an immortal transferable NFT.

  • SOMA is unreleased; its earliest expected TGE is 2027, possibly later. The whitepaper says at least 60% is intended for active ecosystem users but gives no final allocation rules.

Unconfirmed or speculative

  • No official source says that one mint, one Festival, an OG cosmetic, ONYX spending, referrals, or content automatically earns a fixed SOMA allocation.

  • No points system, SOMA balance, conversion rate, snapshot block, eligibility score, minimum activity threshold, anti-Sybil formula, or country list is published.

  • No SOMA contract address, checker, claim website, claim opening date, deadline, exchange listing, price, or guaranteed value exists.

  • The 60% statement does not mean every participant receives tokens equally or at all. “Active users” remains undefined, and final numbers will be published closer to launch.

  • Playing now may create public on-chain history that a later distribution could consider. That is a reasonable possibility, not a confirmed earning strategy.

Keep these categories separate. The July rewards have written rules and an end date. The future governance distribution has only a broad intention and distant timeline. A safe valuation gives the possible SOMA reward a value of zero and decides whether to participate using only entertainment value, known costs, and confirmed prizes.

Eligibility for the Active Rewards

For the OG cosmetic, the official rule is behavioral: complete a Festival during the event window. Winning is not required. Reaching a Festival first requires minting a Taruchi, training and fighting enough Duels to reach Festival level, paying the relevant Festival fee, and completing the tournament. The documentation does not publish a separate application form. The cosmetic is tied to the eligible Taruchi and is soulbound, so do not assume it can be sold.

For the Ascension bonus, eligibility is much narrower: be among the first ten players to survive all three Festivals and Ascend. The Prologue economics state that only one of every 64 Taruchi can ultimately Ascend. The $250 is a competitive bonus, not a participation reward, and availability can disappear before July 28 if ten players qualify first. Check official announcements and the live game before spending money in pursuit of it.

For the content competition, create a substantive guide, video, longpost, artwork, analysis, tool, battle clip, meme, screenshot, or similar work; post it publicly on X while tagging @asph0d37; then place the post link in #launch-comp-submissions in the Discord linked from asphodel.io. Entries are judged individually on quality after the window closes. AI assistance is allowed, but the rules exclude low-effort output. Winners need an Ethereum wallet for payment.

The public launch-event page does not provide comprehensive age, sanctions, tax, or territorial terms. Access to a website is not legal eligibility. Comply with the game’s live terms and local law, and skip paid participation if legality, tax reporting, contest eligibility, or wallet access is uncertain. Never use false identity information or a VPN to evade a restriction.

Safety-First Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Start only at https://asphodel.io/. Confirm HTTPS and spelling, then use its own Play, Docs, X, and Discord links. Bookmark the root. Avoid sponsored search results, X replies, direct messages, unofficial Telegram groups, and directory buttons.

  2. Read the current launch-event and getting-started pages before connecting. Confirm that the date is still before the close of Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and check official X for changes. A deadline without an exact timezone should be treated conservatively; finish well before the final day.

  3. Use a dedicated low-value external Ethereum wallet. Do not expose a wallet containing savings, valuable NFTs, governance positions, or broad token approvals. Keep the recovery phrase offline. Asphodel support, Privy, Discord moderators, and contest judges never need it.

  4. Open https://play.asphodel.io/ from the official site. The game uses a Privy-powered in-game wallet so routine game transactions do not require repeated manual signatures. Understand that funding this wallet creates custody, account-recovery, smart-contract, and application risks even though the game state is on-chain.

  5. Fund only a pre-set loss budget. The in-game wallet needs ONYX and a small amount of ETH for gas. The official X profile publishes the Ethereum ONYX contract as 0x80Ea38D56E262457D73c0d8dFe027AE8925821e2. Independently compare the full address with the current official profile and docs; never trust a ticker alone.

  6. Acquire ONYX only through the route currently linked or documented by Asphodel. Check token address, chain, price impact, slippage, allowance, and gas. Card purchase routes can add provider, identity, spread, and processing costs. A Baseline reserve mechanism does not prevent market loss or guarantee redemption at your purchase price.

  7. Mint one Taruchi for 9 ONYX. The character is soulbound while progressing. Do not reroll impulsively: the first reroll destroys the existing Taruchi and costs 3 ONYX, while later-league rerolls rise to 6 or 9 ONYX. Cosmetic preference is not a reason to exceed the budget.

  8. Play the Tutorial match first, then test builds and abilities in training mode. Train cautiously before a real Duel. Duels are free in ONYX but consume Ethereum gas. Wins provide more XP, yet every repeated action still has time, gas, and contract risk.

  9. To target only the OG cosmetic, reach the first Festival at level 11, verify the event is still open, pay the 5 ONYX entry, and complete the Festival. Winning is unnecessary for cosmetic eligibility. Keep the wallet address and transaction records; do not publish sensitive account information.

  10. Continue toward later Festivals only if the game and risk budget justify it. The level-22 Festival costs 10 ONYX and the level-33 Festival costs 15 ONYX. Losing a Festival can permanently kill the Taruchi. Do not chase sunk costs after a loss.

  11. If pursuing Ascension, verify whether fewer than ten bonuses remain. Surviving all three Festivals produces a transferable Taruchi NFT, the programmed ONYX payout, and a jackpot share; only an early qualifying Ascender gets the separate $250 USDC launch bonus.

  12. For the lower-capital content route, create original work, tag exactly @asph0d37 on X, and submit its link through the official Discord channel. Keep proof of submission. Do not download files from users, run unreviewed bots, or connect a wallet to a Discord verification site unless the official root and announcements independently validate it.

  13. After the event, wait for announcements through asphodel.io and @asph0d37. The cosmetic is promised as a later airdrop, and cash prizes are manually paid. Do not visit an unsolicited ‘checker,’ pay an activation fee, or sign a transaction to unlock a soulbound item or USDC prize.

Costs, Time, and Expected Value

The minimum documented game spend is 9 ONYX to mint, plus ETH gas. Reaching and completing the first Festival adds 5 ONYX, making the direct ONYX commitment at least 14 before rerolls and excluding gas. A full no-reroll route through all three Festivals requires 39 ONYX: 9 to mint and 30 in Festival entries. This is not a guaranteed route because the Taruchi can die, and additional Duels and training create gas costs.

Rerolls can expand costs quickly. An initial reroll costs 3 ONYX, and higher-league rerolls cost 6 then 9. Each reroll destroys the current Taruchi. ONYX itself has price and liquidity risk, while buying or transferring it can involve swap fees, spreads, slippage, allowance approvals, card-provider fees, and tax consequences. Ethereum gas changes with network demand. Check the live wallet estimate before every transaction.

The programmed rewards are competitive. The first Festival collects 40 ONYX and pays 64 ONYX across four winners; the second collects 80 and pays 112 across two winners; the final takes 120 and pays 160 ONYX plus 10% of the current jackpot to one survivor. These pool-level figures do not imply positive expected value for a particular player. Skill, builds, opponents, death, token price, and gas all matter.

Time varies with matchmaking and performance. Budget at least 20 to 40 minutes for security checks, wallet setup, funding, minting, and tutorial play, then potentially hours across training, Duels, tournament timing, and strategy research. Content entries can take several hours or days and are judged rather than guaranteed. Consider opportunity cost and privacy exposure alongside money.

The safest stopping rule is decided before minting: define the maximum ETH, ONYX, and hours you can lose without regret. Do not borrow, use leverage, raid savings, or keep buying characters because a prior one died. Treat the cosmetic as non-transferable and financially worthless, the contest and Ascension bonuses as zero until won, and any future SOMA as zero until official allocation terms exist.

Rewards Explained

Launch-only OG cosmetic

Completing any Festival between July 7 and July 28 qualifies for a unique toggleable cosmetic. The documentation says it will be preserved on-chain forever, can only be earned during this launch event, and will be airdropped after the event. It is soulbound. No claim date, checker, transfer value, or marketplace value is promised.

USDC Ascension bonuses

The first ten Ascenders each receive an additional $250 USDC. The team plans manual payment within a few weeks of each Ascension. This produces a maximum documented Ascension-bonus pool of $2,500, but it is highly competitive and may be exhausted before the event ends. Confirm the destination and network through an official channel without sharing private keys.

Content prizes

The Festival division awards $350, $200, and $150 to the top three substantial works. The Duel division awards four prizes of $75 for smaller moments such as clips, memes, and screenshots. The Asphodel team judges quality after submissions close and pays cash prizes in one batch. Multiple entries are allowed and considered separately, but quantity does not guarantee selection.

ONYX and NFT gameplay rewards

Festival winners receive formula-based ONYX rewards; an Ascender also receives 10% of the then-current jackpot. A successful Taruchi becomes transferable. These are game economics rather than a free airdrop. The official economics page says more than 90% of ONYX entering the game returns to players collectively, but individual players can lose all entry fees, gas, time, and the Taruchi.

Possible future SOMA distribution

SOMA is intended to govern the Asphodel ecosystem, and at least 60% of supply is planned for active users. Final numbers, user definition, vesting, exclusions, and allocation method are absent. The earliest expected TGE is 2027, possibly later, and the name can change. This is the only basis for speculative ‘airdrop farming’ claims; it is not a current reward promise.

Checker, Snapshot, and Important Dates

  • Research and status check date: July 10, 2026.

  • Prologue mainnet launch and launch-event opening: Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

  • Launch-event and content-submission close: Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The public page does not specify an exact timezone, so do not wait until the final hours.

  • OG cosmetic distribution: after the launch event; no exact airdrop date or official checker is published.

  • Ascension bonuses: manually sent within a few weeks after each qualifying Ascension.

  • Content cash prizes: paid in one batch after the competition closes; no exact payment date is stated.

  • SOMA snapshot: none announced.

  • SOMA checker or claim page: none exists in the reviewed primary sources.

  • SOMA TGE: not expected before 2027 at the earliest, possibly later; no exact date.

  • ONYX airdrop: none. ONYX launched in 2025 and all supply is already distributed or in liquidity.

Use the game’s own on-chain activity and profile as participation records, but do not confuse records with an allocation checker. A legitimate future checker should be linked from asphodel.io and corroborated by @asph0d37. It should not ask for a seed phrase, private key, remote access, token transfer, unlimited approval, or advance payment.

Risks and Scam Defenses

  • Permanent-loss risk: a Taruchi that loses a Festival can die permanently, and fees already spent are not recovered merely because the character is gone.

  • Token risk: ONYX price can fall, liquidity can thin, and the Baseline mechanism does not eliminate volatility, execution loss, smart-contract failure, or market risk.

  • Gas risk: Ethereum fees vary and repeated Duels or failed transactions can make a seemingly small strategy expensive.

  • Contract and application risk: immutable or on-chain systems can contain bugs; Privy, front ends, RPC services, wallets, token contracts, and integrations can fail or be compromised.

  • Competition risk: ten Ascension bonuses can be exhausted, and content prizes are subjective. Effort and spending do not guarantee payment.

  • Airdrop uncertainty: SOMA rules can change, branding can change, launch can be delayed, and a particular wallet can receive nothing.

  • Phishing risk: fake play sites, SOMA presales, ONYX contracts, cosmetic checkers, Discord verification bots, X replies, and support accounts can drain wallets.

  • Signature risk: read chain, destination, token amount, approval scope, and simulation. Reject unexplained permit, approval-for-all, ownership, or transfer signatures.

  • Social engineering: no legitimate moderator needs recovery words, private keys, one-time codes, screen sharing, remote-control software, or a payment to release rewards.

  • Tax and legal risk: token prizes, USDC, referrals, swaps, NFT receipts, and disposals can create reporting duties or restrictions. Obtain local advice if needed.

Keep long-term assets away from the participating wallet, cap approvals where possible, and revoke unused permissions after finishing. Verify the ONYX address character by character against a current official source. Discord is useful for announcements but hostile for inbound messages: disable unsolicited DMs and navigate back to the bookmarked root before every wallet action.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Asphodel airdrop active?

An official launch rewards event is active through July 28, 2026, including a later cosmetic airdrop. There is no active token airdrop. Describe it as an active game and rewards campaign, not a guaranteed SOMA drop.

Can I participate for free?

The content competition can avoid mandatory game spending if you can create eligible original content, although it costs time and public social activity. The in-game cosmetic and Ascension routes require ONYX and ETH gas. A Taruchi alone costs 9 ONYX.

What is the cheapest confirmed in-game reward route?

For the cosmetic, mint for 9 ONYX, reach level 11, pay 5 ONYX for the first Festival, and complete it before the deadline. That is at least 14 ONYX plus gas, assuming no reroll. The player need not win the Festival, but reaching and completing it still requires gameplay and transaction costs.

Does my Taruchi become an NFT?

It is an on-chain soulbound character during the Prologue. Only a Taruchi that survives all three Festivals and Ascends becomes immortal and transferable. The launch cosmetic remains described as soulbound.

Will playing qualify me for SOMA?

Not necessarily. The whitepaper plans at least 60% of SOMA for active users, but does not define activity or publish a formula. Gameplay may create relevant history, but no task guarantees eligibility or allocation.

Is there an Asphodel airdrop checker or snapshot date?

No SOMA checker, claim page, snapshot, contract, or exact TGE date is official. The game can show your character and activity, but that is not a token allocation. Treat third-party checkers as unsafe.

Is ONYX the future airdrop token?

No. ONYX is the existing in-game commodity token. The official docs say all one million tokens are already held or in liquidity and no inflationary issuance is planned. The future governance concept is currently called SOMA.

Can I use multiple wallets?

The getting-started guide notes one active Taruchi per wallet and mentions multiple wallets for parallel characters. That is not proof that multi-wallet farming will qualify for SOMA. More wallets multiply cost and security exposure, and future anti-abuse rules are unknown. Do not use automation or deceptive identities.

How will confirmed rewards arrive?

The cosmetic is scheduled for an airdrop after the event. The first ten Ascension bonuses are manually sent within weeks, and content cash prizes are sent in one batch after judging. No legitimate payment requires an upfront release fee or recovery phrase.

What if the event page or terms change?

The current official page controls. Save private evidence of the rules and your qualifying transaction, then check asphodel.io, docs.asphodel.io, and @asph0d37. If domains conflict, rewards disappear, or a new claim lacks corroboration, stop and wait.
